About the Reunion

We've pinned down a date for the first ever Huntington Community Players alumni reunion - Memorial Day Weekend 2017 (Saturday, May 27th). Stay tuned for more information as plans are firmed up and new opportunities arise for this ultimate HCP cast party! We also want to open the invitation to arts lovers in Huntington who participated in other theatre or dance groups around town — or supported the community simply by buying a ticket. What we're going to do

We're in the final stages of planning for weekend activities. The main event will be on Saturday evening, May 27, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Gazebo in West Huntington. We're planning refreshments (ie. Huntington Cuisine) and a History of the Abbott Theatre and Huntington Community Players video by Deb Novak. We'll also be planning a Friday night meet n' greet and plans for Saturday daytime and Sunday brunch. Please check back for more information!

How We Got Started

Far Away and Many Curtain Calls Ago

We are but a tiny percentage of people who graced the stage of the Abbott Theatre in Huntington, but we decided it was time to start doing something about having a reunion before all our memories were lost in the mists of time - kind of like a real world Brigadoon. Chris Broquet began chatting with Deb Novak and Hugh Daniel, with lots of script rewrites from many other HCP past-thespians; that led to a conversation with Joanna Sexton (who has an antique store—Hattie & Nan's in Huntington—and was a huge help in pinning down The Gazebo as a location). This is an evolving plot line, so please check back for rewrites and additional cast members!

HCP existed for many years as a strong community theatre presence in Huntington, WV. Many of us developed a life-long passion for the arts as a result of being involved in productions.
